A Special - --

We will notify you by mail - you will receive a letter from us regarding the decision ----

The evening was cooling from the warmth of a day. The walk, to do the daily constitution,
the first set of steps up past the limes and blossoms, past the pool, down the stairs - Cindy
on top of the Mail Boxes, down the stairs, five envelopes with a name that I knew, mine.
Correspondence of various concerns, no statements, no monitary interest but five envelopes
I pick them up and continue my walk and back to my place. I turn the light on and yes it is
the name and address on a Sunday on top of the mailboxes five envelopes.

Shop

Shop with a calculator - - - a weekly groceries - you're likely to spend less if you know precisely how much you're spending before you get to the cash register. If your budget is, say, $100.
set your calculator to that amount. Every time you put an item in your cart, subtract its price.
When you get to zero you're done.

We all know we can borrow books from the library, but did you know that many librairies also
lend video games and DVD's? Instead of buying a ticket to the movies, screen a DVD at home for the price of microwave popcorn. Feel the urge to splurge on clothes? Organize a swap with friends or neighbors instead. Their old-things will feel new to you.

The money you spend looking for a job may be trax-deductible.

Tuesday

You need to probe to develope a picture of how the company works and how the prospective job fits in. Here are four (4) "looking for red flags" questions to ask: 1. "i've read the company's mission statement, can you tell me how your department contributes to it? ----"deer in headlights" Do you want to work for a firm that doesn't know how to execute its mission?
2. Can you provide some examples of how you initiate benchmaking and continuous improvements in your area.? Red flag a response indicating that change comes from the top down. Productivity becomes limited, too, because employees do their jobs within strictly defined parameters. Do you want a job where the "how" leaves no room to explore doing things differently?
3. What types of training are provided to develop talent? Red flag an answer training is minimal It's often accompanied by a training budgets have been cut" --------Do you want to work for a company trying to shrink its way to success by not providing the tools needed to improve productivity? If the company doesn't offer developement opp what are your chanse-----4.How do project teams work? Red flag -answers that show inter-departmental and cross-discipline collaberation are minimal When project is not shared---------------

Job seekers may not want to ask these red-flag questions because tough questions may disqualify them. They need to remember -untenable situation-----------

help beat the e-mail overload

Want to be more effective in writing, reading and managing e-mail? Here are a few highlights
from the Harvard Business School article "Tips for Mastering E-mail Overload."
.When writing an e-mail, summarize in the subject line, give the full context at the start and let
all the people you copy know why they should care. Use their examples of good and bad emails
to improve your own e-mails.

.Try to include one topiic in an e-mail, especially if some topics require routine action and others
may be controversial.

.Be concise in your responses, if you're the boss, get away from an instant response model, setting specific times when you'll respond. Then set similar expectations for your team to help
them get out from under e-mail too. To manage e-mail successfully, make a plan and keep at
it Try new things until you find an approach that works for you; you'll lower stress and increase
productivity.--
