a note

Such was the power of Beethoven's name in Roll Over Bethoven that it was ripe for parody when the Rutles wrote a song called Blue Suede Schubert as a tongue in cheek response to the
Bethoven mention.
.A Fifth of Beethoven was a big disco-era hit, released in 1976. An instrumental composed and
recorded by Walter Murphy and the Big Apple Band, the song took its inspiration from the first movement of arguably the most famous symphony ever composed - Beethoven's Fifth. It was so
catchy that it would be included in the soundtrack of another disco-era gem, the film
Saturday Night Fever.
Love letters of Great Men and Women From the Eighteenth Century to the Present Day, Beethoven's letters were quoted and played a crucial plot role in 2008's Sex and the City movie.
