What harm can a few months at home cause -
Your time off will show up as a work-history gap on your resume'. When the first screener sees a
lenghty gap, it becomes any easy way to screen you out.
If you make it to the interview stage, that gap will have to be explained. Saying you caught up on home projects makes it look like finding a job wasn't your rop priority. When an employer
usually receives over 100 applications per opening, why should it hire anyone who; a admitted
they took a break from work or b. doesn't consider a job the #1 priority?
For those over 50, "chill time: makes even less sense. They've always found it harder to get jobs
than their younger competition. Gift-wrappinng an excuse not to hire you is folly. If you want to

The one industry that seems to be rock solid is recycling.
