Marbles

When you were a kid did you ever play marbles? Remember, you drew a circle on the ground and tossed some marbles into it and then using other marbles, started shooting at the ones in the circle. If you knocked them out of the circle, they were yours to keep. -------------

You see, It's a Little Known Fact, that marbles was as popular with adults as with children. It was a game that both often shared together, and that's how those players got so good. And at least at one time in our history, the game provided some badly needed entertainment and relaxation while the players were involved in some rather important activities in Philadelphia in July 1776. And don't kid yourself, they were some of the better players and collectors of their time. It's true in their own right, George Washington, John Adams and Thomas Jefferson ...marble champs all!
