Editor's Note
One of the nicest things about painting details is there availability.
We don't need to take a painting vacation in exotic places to find subject
matter (although that's always a delight too). Subjects abound close by
--look around your backyard, garden, or local park. Consider the potted
plants on your windowsill; be on the lookout for small slices of everyday life.
To pick your subject, look around you slowly. Consider everything, but choose nothing
just yet. Then close your eyes, Something will come to mind. Something has made an
impression. Respond to it in your imagination. Why has this particular subject touched
you? What did you notice about it, what elicited a response? Perhaps is was simply a
special beauty, a sparkle of life or movement. Perhaps a particular angle captured your
imagination, a play of light and dark.

English is crazy
If a vegetarian eats vegetables what does a humanitarian eat?
How can a clim chance and a fat chance be the same, while a wise man
and a wise guy are opposites?
The wind was too strong to wind the sail.
The bandage was wound around the wound.
The farm was used to produce produce.
He could lead if he could get the lead out.
The soldier decided to desert his dessert in the desert.
Since there is no time like the present, he thought it was time to present the present.
They were too close to close the door.
Upon seeing the tear in the painting, I shed a tear.
I had to subject the subject to a series of test.
How can I intimate this to my most intimate friend.
In what language do peaople recite at a play and play at a recital, ship by truck and
send cargo by ship, have noses that run and feet that smell?
How can a slim chance and a fat chance be the same,
The buck does funny things when does are present.
A seamstress and a sewer fell into a sewer line.
The dump was so full that it had to refuse more refuse.
To help with planting the farmer taught the sow to sow.
The insurance was invalid for the invalid.
Reasons why the English language is so hard to learn
